As a new business we were keen to partner with a local charity with a purpose that really resonated with us. All our families have at some stage been impacted by cancer – we wanted to contribute to something which meant something to us personally.
Participating in the Cancer Council’s Cook a Meal Program was a fantastic way for us to work as a team, get a bit competitive in the kitchen and put on a home cooked meal for the residents at Milroy Lodge. It was such a wholesome experience being able to put smiles on the faces of the lodge guests who are going through cancer treatment.
We’re keen to do it again and would highly recommend any other interested corporate partners getting involved. Thank you, Cancer Council WA, and see you again soon.
Our Lodges are homes away from home for country cancer patients and the carers whilst staying in Perth for treatment, reducing the added hardship that country cancer patients face by providing accommodation and support services close to treatment centres in Perth.
The team cooked a fantastic dinner for cancer patients staying at our Milroy Lodge. This gave the guests a night off from cooking, a chance to relax and socialise after a long day of treatment.
