Thanks to the generous support of the Channel 7 Telethon Trust, the Stan Perron Foundation, and Bedshed Claremont, Cancer Council WA received grant funding support to replace 139 mattresses at Milroy Lodge and Crawford Lodge with new, more comfortable models in early June.
These upgrades have been well received so far, with lots of positive comments from guests. This includes William (12) and Ashleyn (10), from Kojonup, who enjoyed the new mattresses provided by Telethon for the family suites in Crawford Lodge.
William and Ashleyn would like to say, “thank you Telethon for your support” and that “it is so good to be able to be together as a family”, staying with their parents at Crawford Lodge.
They have also reported that, “our bed is better than our parents’ bed” and that “the new mattresses are very comfortable and soft”.
All of the patients, carers and family members staying at one of our lodges will be enjoying a much comfier night’s sleep from now on!
