Something active
Run, swim, cycle, lift, climb or play your favourite sport.
Lots of people do it in lots of ways. For themselves or for a loved one. Whatever you are inspired to do, we can help you raise money to help create a future free of cancer. So if you’ve got a plan, a personal challenge, or a special event coming up, make it even more special by helping people whose lives have been affected by cancer.
The sky is the limit! Whether your event is big or small, indoors, or outdoors, on one day or throughout the year, it’s your choice how you raise funds for us! Here are just some ideas of how you can take part and help raise funds for those impacted by cancer:
Run, swim, cycle, lift, climb or play your favourite sport.
Cut it, style it, colour it or shave it.
Host a barbie, morning tea or trivia night.
Give up alcohol, smoking or sugary drinks.
Host a pink morning tea, lunch or another pink event.
Get everyone together for a fun night in.
Create and hold your own garage sale, auction or raffle.
On your special occasion, ask for donations instead.
Got your own idea? Go for it – the sky is the limit.
Simon Brodie, a teacher at John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School, first shaved his head 20 years ago in support for a student who was diagnosed with cancer.
He has been shaving his head every year since, alongside staff and students. Together, they have raised nearly $250,000 for West Australians impacted by cancer!
If we can find some way to make [people who are diagnosed with cancer] lives easier, if we can find some cure for this insidious disease, then it’s all worthwhile
