Title: Your Tools and Strategies for Navigating Complex Family Dynamics in Residential Aged Care

Overview:

Good communication is always the key to success, but complex family dynamics and how to ‘navigate’ is often tricky. Even with fundamental differences, it is usually possible to agree with some compromise on core values and goals of care, whilst maintaining a palliative approach that prevents and relieves suffering by means of early identification, impeccable assessment, and treatment of pain, physical, psychosocial and spiritual.

This workshop aims to provide tools and strategies to navigate complex family dynamics to ensure that a patient is provided with exceptional palliative care and their dignity and suffering is addressed.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Strategies to address complex family dynamics.

2. Tools to use for successful communication in conflict or emotional situations.

3. Identify the importance of successfully navigating complex family dynamics.
