Title: Eliciting and Responding to Emotional Cues in Residential Aged Care
Overview:
This 3-hour virtual, immersive simulation-based workshop can help to enhance your communication skills and further develop resilience in discussing personal issues with patients, family, and carers more effectively. By developing your communication skills, you will also improve your professional relationships with patients and colleagues, whilst contributing to best practice and improving patient safety and outcomes.
The workshop involves participating in hypothetical scenarios with a PaSCE simulated patient and an experienced trained facilitator. There may also be a co-facilitator in training. We provide a safe, private, and non-judgmental learning environment for you to practice and receive feedback on your communication skills.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Develop effective fundamental communication skills.
2. Practice recognising emotional cues.
3. Embed intuitive responses through simulated role play.
