Call for Information & Support

There are three key messages we would like to share relating to support after cancer:

  1. Cancer may have an enormous impact on you and your family.
  2. There are a number of support services available for you, including support groups, online and telephone counselling, and practical support.
  3. Call our 13 11 20 Cancer Information and Support Line for more information or submit a Request a Wellbeing after Cancer Callback form for one of our cancer nurses to contact you.

We understand that, even after treatment, cancer may have an enormous impact on you and your family. There is a range of practical and emotional support services and information to assist you.

Cancer Council WA offers personalised support to all those affected by cancer.  Call our 13 11 20 Cancer Information and Support Line to access our services, resources and immediate support. You can call from anywhere in WA and connect with one of our cancer nurses who can provide you with tailored information and support in adjusting to life after treatment.

If you would prefer us to call you, please submit a Request a Wellbeing after Cancer Callback form and a Wellbeing after Cancer Registered Nurse will contact you. We will try to call you during the next business day between 9am and 5pm. You can nominate a convenient time within these hours if preferred.

A cancer support group is a group where members share their feelings and experiences with others affected by cancer. Groups can be face-to-face, online or via telephone. Getting in touch with other people who have had similar experiences to you can be helpful. In a support setting, you may find that you are comfortable talking about your diagnosis and treatment, relationships with friends and family, and hopes and fears for the future. Some people say they can be even more open and honest because they are not trying to protect their loved ones.

For information on cancer support groups, including types of support groups (eg face-to-face, phone support or an online community), and groups in your area, visit our Support group page.

We understand that cancer treatment can put enormous strain on your resources and that sometimes a little help can go a long way. Cancer Council WA can help refer you to support services you might be eligible for, or offer advice to manage the practical impact of life after cancer.
